Blind for a day.... (racism part 1)

If we were all blind for just a day
Racism for 24 hours would go away
For we wouldn't be able to see...
The prejudice and hatred, roaming free!

We would have a day
Which would be gentle and kind
And only pleasant thoughts
Running through our minds

We would not be able to judge people
By the colour of their skin
But by their ability and potentiality
Because we co uldn't se their racism that lies within

Yes if we were all blind for just a day
We would help each other along the way
Freely and with open minds
Removing all our thoughts of racism from our minds
Allowing us to be gentle and kind.

COMMONWEALTH PART 2....

When the so-called club was established, it hoped it was to help and encourage cordial relationship between all British former colonies. One cof the objectives of the CLUB is free movement of the citizens of the memeber states to and from member states, and finally encouraging democratic rule...

But come to think of it one would discover that many of the objectives of the CLUB had been dropped because if not, why is it that what is good for Australia, Canada and even New Zealand is not good for any African member states...? If a Canadian, an Australia and even a New Zealander can come to Britain without visa, why then must African member states should be subjected to visa and thorough scutiny before even acquired visa?

I can't blame Mugabe for pulling out of a CLUB that does not recognise African membership worthwhile. Why must we continue calling ourselves members of Commonwealth when certain members enjoyed free trade while African member states enjoy strict trade...?

Can someone tell me the benefit of Commonwealth? Even if they give aids to African member states, the condition that goes along with the aids would be unberable. The only relationship between Nigeria and the likes of Britain, Australia and even Canada is "Oil relationship". It is high time Africa leaders thought of what to do with this mere CLUB...

IS THIS NOT MADNESS...?

Yesternight, l was listening to CNN and it was briefed that America (G.W.Bush) has pronounced that rebuilfding Iraq will cost billions of dollars and that the contacts can only be given out to the companies from the allies countries. If America is making sense at all, that means the windfall of rebuilding lraq will only go to the likes of American, English, Australian, Italian, Japanese, Polish etc companise. What then wil be the benefit of the lraqi's indigenous contractors? If this actually is implemented, that means America's intention to invade Iraq is not because of political change but because of oil and mostly the economic benefits.

Nigeria and commonwealth summit...

Going by the events that ensued at the last commonwealth summit, Nigeria was unanimously nomiated to host the following one which is now going on in the country. But my wonders are what is the essence of commonwealth when countries United Kingdom, Australia, Canada etc are holding their jaws while other members are languishing in poverty? What is the meaning of commonwealth? Is it a modern form of colonisation because the rest of the members are subjected to the decision reached and made by the aforementioned three nations...? Is commonwealth worthwhile....and what is common in commonwealth nations...?

World Aids Day: Aids, Hiv or what...?

Today amongst others, is a day specifically highlighted for the celebration and remembrance of that deadly disease called AID. The usefulness of today is to sympathise with the victims of HIV throughout the whole world. Yesterday on my television, I watched Dr. Nelson Mandela at the gathering of loads of world famous musicians at a music concert organised to raise awareness of AIDS. In fact, it's a remarkable event and I wished I should be there too as it attracted millions of people.

But my people, are we going to continue holding our jaw like this and let the whole world be infected with HIV? Can we call the providers/producers of the drugs that capabl of combalting HIV to their right senses before this disease goes out of control?

What exactly should be done to put an end to this dreadful disease? Could holding or controlling ourselves be a reasonable solution? Could using ordinary rubber called condom provides a reliable solution?

Oh you the aids/hiv victims, cry no more and remember we are always with you...
